Lenwood is a small rural community located in the Mojave Desert,
approximately two miles south west of Barstow California.
There are very few businesses or attractions located in Lenwood,
making it a rather quiet place to live.
One of the major attractions to the Barstow/Lenwood
community is Historic Route 66, which ran from Chicago to Las Angles
and was known as the Mother of All Roads in the 1920's to the
1960's. There are many remnants of this history scattered
throughout the area to include part of our church! The
fellowship hall at Lenwood Community Church was once the Green
Lantern dinner and then the Poke A Dot Cafe on Route 66!

Another major attraction of the area in our large sand
box! Being located in the middle of the Mojave Desert we are
surrounded by California's authorized Off High Vehicle (OHV)
riding areas. One of the largest areas is the Stoddard Valley OHV area, which is located just 5 minutes to the south. This
riding area is open all year around and is used for many Baja truck
and dune buggy racing events.

Of course, we like to believe that another major
attraction to the area is our church, Lenwood Community Church.
We are a small town, family oriented body where everyone has an
opportunity to take part and to be part of our family. If you
are looking to visit the Lenwood area, or are looking for a church
home in the area, we would love to have you join us. |
